Ernest Dowson (1867–1900) was an English poet and decadent writer associated with the fin de siècle literary movement. His poetry, including “Cynara” and “Non Sum Qualis Eram Bonae sub Regno Cynarae,” explored themes of fleeting beauty, desire, and melancholy. Dowson’s works had a significant influence on English poetry.
